The Wannsee lido in the Zehlendorf district is considered the highlight of Berlin's leisure architecture and is still the largest inland lake pool in Europe. On its 1,275 meter long and 80 meter wide sandy beach, the listed facility in the New Objectivity style offers space for around 50,000 guests. Cloakrooms, shower facilities as well as sales and service facilities are located in the building complex built in 1929/30 by Martin Wagner and Richard Ermisch with a covered promenade. They were laid out on a terraced steel structure clad with yellow clinker bricks. The roof areas with their large sunny plateaus and sports levels offer a beautiful view of and over the lake. For the 100th anniversary on May 12, 2007, the lido was extensively renovated.
