Fidelidade arises from the union of various experts insurance in their branches, whose origins date back to the year 1808 , making it one of the insurance companies oldest in Europe . Since 2014, Fidelidade is part of the international group Fosun International Limited . During its more than 200 years of activity, the company has been distinguished by its entrepreneurial spirit and the drive offered to the development of the Portuguese society and economy. Throughout its history, Fidelidade has supported key projects such as the creation of the Portuguese railway network, boosting the economy by insuring international exports or innovating in the offer to customers (it was the first insurer to offer insurance for life and accidents in Portugal).
